Tagalog News: Gobyerno, lilikha ng 'green collar jobs' ayon kay Pangulong Arroyo

Dagupan City (11 Pebrero) - Maglalagay ang pamahalaan ng mga budget-funded energy independence at environment projects sa ilalim ng P330 billion economic resiliency package upang makalikha ng 'green collar jobs.'

Ayon kay Pangulong Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, maglalagay ng dalawang bilyong pisong reforestation fund upang makalikha ng trabaho sa re-greeening ng logged-over uplands sa mga kabundukan ng Bukidnon, Cagayan de Oro, Lanao del Sur at sa regeneration ng mga mangrove areas.

Sa ilalim ng Grassroots Enterpreneurship for Eco-Tourism (GREET), sinabi ng Pangulo na tatanggap ang pamahalaan ng mga trabahador para sa coastal clean-up and bay watch projects, planting at re-planting ng mga puno ng niyog upang masiguro ang biofuel feed stock, refitting ng mga public utility vehicles at tricycles ng liquefied petroleum gas at re-electrification ng mga barangay gamit ang solar panels at hydroelectric grid.

Dinagdag ng Pangulo na patuloy ang pagbibigay ng mga empleyo sa pamamagitan ng Out-of-School Youth Serving Towards Economic Resiliency o OYSTER program tulad ng paglalagay ng mga bike lanes, solar-powered street lights at iba pang mga clean energy initiatives.

Sinabi rin ng Punong Ehekutibo na mayroong humigit kumulang na 6,000 short-term jobs na binuksan sa P650-million poverty mapping project ng gobyerno. (PIA-Pangasinan) [top]
