DARMOs' clustering eyed to fast-track CARP implementation

Province of Sorsogon (12 February) -- The Department of Agrarian Reform provincial office here has clustered the different DAR municipal office to maximize the limited number of technical personnel against the bulk of programs which need to be implemented by the agency within the six months extension of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) this year.
The extension of CARP was approved in Joint Resolution No. 19 last December 2008, wherein the DAR will focus and intensified operation on land transfer (OLT).
DARMO Sta. Magdalena joins DARMO Matnog in one cluster led by municipal agrarian reform officer (MARO) Belinda Dogillo.
On the other hand, DARMO Pto. Diaz and DARMO Gubat, led by MARO Nelson Espaldon comprised another cluster.. With the urgency to carry out OLT and other pressing concerns in Pto. Diaz and part of Gubat, MARO Luzviminda de Jesus was tasked to assist OLT implementation in these areas.
MARO Benny Escober meanwhile takes the lead the operation in DARMO Bacon, which reopening of the DARMO is still to be considered.
"There is a possibility for some Technical Personnel to radiate to other DARMOs with higher potential just so we could wipe out the OLT balances. Because there has no longer task force on these operations, this time everybody is involved in the OLT," Olayres said. (DAR Sorsogon/PIA) [top]
