Peace and order is everybody's responsibility – PNP brass
by Apipa P. Bagumbaran
Marawi City (13 February) -- The peace and order situation in Marawi City is not the exclusive concern of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) but of everybody.
This was stressed by Colonel Rey C. Ardo, Commanding Officer of army's 3rd Infantry Brigade (103Bde), 1st Infantry Division (1ID), during the recently concluded City Peace and Order Council planning workshop held in Bagumbayan Hall, Marawi City.
Col. Ardo said he appreciates the effort of the city government in calling together members of the peace and order council and various sectors of the community to a planning workshop to address the current peace and order problems in the area.
"The workshop is a great venue to identify and discuss peace and order issues in the locality. Though these issues cannot be solved right away, it needs to be tackled immediately so that it will not go out of hand," Col. Ardo said.
He said peace and order is everybody's responsibility. The AFP is just one of the members of the council. Although peace and order is a law enforcement issue, the AFP will always remain supportive to the PNP in combating all forms of criminality. (PIA-Marawi) [top]
