826 cops promoted in Ilocos Region

Camp Bgen Oscar M Florendo, La Union (13 February) -- Ilocos region police director, Chief Superintendent Luizo C. Ticman, had announced the promotion of 826 policemen to the next higher rank here, it was learned here.

The adjustment of ranks of the police officers is part of the second level of the regular promotion program for Calendar Year 2008 that started on August 15, 2008 and completed on December 31, 2008.

Of the total police officers promoted, 46 were commissioned officers such as two (2) Police Inspectors, 17 Police Senior Inspectors, 27 Police Chief Inspectors; and 780 non- commissioned police officer as follows: 423 Police Officer 2 (PO2), 118 PO3, 33 Senior Police Officer 1 (SPO1), 39 SPO2, 124 SPO3, and 43 SPO4.

The pinning of ranks and oath-taking ceremony of the newly promoted policemen were done simultaneously in the four Provincial Police Offices of Region 1 comprises the provinces of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union and Pangasinan.

Ticman said the promotion of the policemen to a higher rank was an acknowledgement of police professional competence but it entailed greater responsibility.

"As you go up to the next level of the PNP ladder, you must need to improve your leadership ability. For this is one of the main goals of our PNP Integrated Transformation Program to develop leaders at all levels," Ticman added.

Ticman likewise challenge his men to give their best, to do what is right and just, and to perform their duties with dedication and professionalism in the noble profession of law enforcement.

"Ang mas mataas na ranggong nakakabit ngayon sa inyong uniporme ay maging inspirasyon sana ninyo sa pagbibigay ng mas mataas na antas ng paglilingkod sa ating mga kababayan," he said.

"As you go back to work, be more diligent in doing your assigned tasks and continue giving honor to PRO1 and the PNP as a whole," Ticman stressed. (PIA Ilocos Sur) [top]
