Lagawe RIC expands projects

by Vency D. Bulayungan

Lagawe, Ifugao (14 February) -- Taking the lead to generate additional jobs in the families and to help the members uplift their socio-economic condition, the Rising Sun Rural Improvement Club (RS-RIC) opted to expand their projects to a larger scale.

Monica Tuguinay, the President of the RS-RIC said that some members of the club who have existing operational individual projects such as swine raising, mushroom cultivation and processing, storekeeping, snacks catering and backyard gardening will expand to a larger scale with the use of an additional capital fund for the procurement of needed inputs.

Through the LEAD Roll Over Program of the Department of Agriculture, the RIC was able to avail a fund of P50,000.00 from the Provincial Government here which will be added to the proponent's P50,000 counterpart, the RIC can now attain its goal of expansion purposes.

Tuguinay said that the officers shall identify the first, second and third beneficiaries basing on the urgency and needs of the project. "Validation shall be conducted by the validating team of the club.

According to Tuguinay, the existing projects shall be the prime projects which the individual members can expand using the fund. "With P10,000.00 for each project, the fund shall be distributed to projects that need financial augmentation for immediate expansion.

In order to ensure the utilization of the said fund, the officers and members of the club will conduct a quarterly monitoring and evaluation of individual projects. "The projects shall also be open to other monitoring arms of the Municipal and or Provincial Government Units and the Agricultural and fishery Council," Tuguinay said. (PIA-Ifugao) [top]
