Feature: Quiz show for IT wizards

Butuan City (16 February) -- The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Cluster of Caraga will stage a quiz show to determine the Information Technology (IT) wizard in the region. The quiz show will be held during the First Caraga ICT Congress on Feb. 18, 2009 at Almont's Inland Resort, Butuan City.

College students from 24 institutions in the region will join the said quiz show. The Quiz Show will be a battle of knowledge basically in areas of information technology. It aims to encourage the youth to be updated with the current information and technology trends and to know the opportunities and potentials of the industry.

The show will be administered by Commission on Higher Education (CHED), the Philippine Society of Information Technology Educators (PSITE) and Institute of Electronics and Communications Engineers of the Philippines (IECEP) Caraga chapters.

The top three winners will receive cash prizes of Php 2,000.00, P1,500 and P1,000, respectively and plaques of recognition.

The ICT Congress is the first gathering of the key players of the information and communication technology players in the region. It aims to discuss the industry's trends and issues, provide a venue for networking, marketing, and business development and creation among ICT players; and enhance the human resource development program as the main requirement for business process outsourcing and e-services.

This year's theme is Caraga, Collaborate, Connect.
