DOLE bares P50M livelihood fund for 2009
Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya (17 February) -- The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is offering the amount of at least P50 million among livelihood organizations this year to fund projects designed to combat poverty in Cagayan Valley region.
Pacifico Moralit, DOLE district officer here said the amount will be given to various organizations needing livelihood funds for the development of projects that will benefit the poor sector in the villages.
He said the fund will be given under the Program for Rural Employment thru Self–Employment and Entrepreneurship Development (PRESEED).
"Aside from this fund, we are still distributing livelihood funds from last year for various projects of livelihood organizations in Nueva Vizcaya," Moralit said.
He said the municipalities who will receive the 2008 livelihood fund are Quezon with P100,000.00 for the Runruno Bakers' Association (RBA) and Ambaguio and Dupax del Norte with P130,000.00 each for their bio-organic fertilizer production of their farmers' organization in the community.
