Tagalog News: Engineers na nawalan ng trabaho ihahanda para sa BPO sector

Manila (17 February) -- Ipinag-utos ni Pangulong Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo kay Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Director-General Augusto Syjuco at Business Processing Association of the Philippines (BPAP) President Oscar Sanez na ihanda ang lahat ng mga engineers mula sa electronics sector na nawalan ng trabaho upang maipasok sa business process outsourcing sector.

Ang panibagong programa ng TESDA at BPAP ay bahagi ng pagsisikap ng administrasyong tulungan ang mga manggagawang nawalan ng trabaho at mga Overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) sa electronics sector na i-match ang kanilang kakayahan sa mga BPO-related jobs.

Ipinaliwanag ng Pangulong Arroyo na nangangailangan ang mga BPO firms ng maraming manggagawa lalo na yaong may karanasan sa electronics at semi-conductor companies. Patunay rin umano ito na ang mga manggagawang nawalan ng trabaho dahil sa pagbaba ng ekonomiya ng mundo ay may pag-asa pang magkaroon ng panibagong trabaho sa iba pang sektor.

Binigyang diin rin ng Pangulo na sa kabila ng global financial meltdown, maraming employment opportunities ang naghihintay para sa call center agents, animation, medical transcriptionists, software developers at iba pang BPO-related fields. (Lgtomas/PIA 12) [top]
