Health and wellness confab set in Bacolod
Bacolod City (18 February) -- The Metro-Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MBCCI) and the Spa Association of Negros Occidental (SPAN) in coordination with the Office of Councilor Jocelle Batapa-Sigue will spearhead the 1st Negrense Beauty, Health and Wellness Show on April 23 to 26, 2009 at Robinsons Place Bacolod, Bacolod City.
The MBCCI under its President, Roberto Montelibano has assisted in the formation of SPAN, whose objective is to promote the Negrense health and wellness industry, and generate more jobs and opportunities in this sector as well as boost the tourism of the province.
The project, which involves exhibits, live programs, and educational tracks, is aimed to promote the beauty, health and wellness sector of Negros Occidental, identify business, job generation and investment opportunities in this sector, highlight best practices and activities that promote health and wellness, and serve as a venue for information and education to the public.
Victoria Que, head of the exhibits committee targets as exhibitors various spas, health and wellness clinics, centers and resorts, beauty parlors and salons, health supplements, vitamins, beverages and food, organic products, gyms and health studios, and beauty and skin care products.
Meanwhile, Batapa-Sigue, who chairs the education committee of the city has invited renowned national resource speakers for the four-day educational sessions which include topics on the latest updates and innovations in spa management, medical and health tourism, national government initiatives on health and wellness and development of world-class spa professionals.
Last year, SPAN and MBCCI attended the Beauty, Health and Wellness (BHW) Show in Cebu, which was organized by the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) as a vehicle that will capture everything that Cebu can offeróbeauty, lifestyle and wellness products and services, medical tourism and retirement homes, among others.
