Police nabs wanted suspect for illegal drug trade in Central Mindanao
General Santos City (18 February) -- Police nabbed a notorious drug pusher in Central Mindanao in a raid led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-ARMM).
The suspect named Jun Bito, 47, who resides in barangay Tacuma, Parang, Maguindanao, was cornered in his safehouse.
Police confiscated from his safehouse 30 sachets of shabu, assorted drug paraphernalia, a .45 caliber pistol and live ammunition.
PDEA-ARMM Regional Director Chief Inspector Maldam Mucaram said Bito was among those listed in the police order of battle and was under surveillance for a long time now.
ARMM Governor Datu Zaldy Ampatuan commended the government authorities in their efforts to curb illegal drug trade operations in his area.
He stressed his government is firm in its position to clear the province of illegal drugs and is one in supporting the nationwide campaign against illegal drug trade.
Meanwhile Mucaram said police are still monitoring the veracity of reported “drug laboratory” in Central Mindanao assuring people that the police is doubling its effort to bring unscrupulous individuals to justice. (PIA SarGen) [top]
