Wanted: Japanese government scholarship applicants

Roxas City (19 February) -- Applications for the Japanese Government Scholarships Teacher Training and Japanese Studies for the year 2009 are still being accepted until February 27, 2009 at the Japan Information and Culture Center (JICC) of the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines in Pasay City.

"These scholarships are open to all Filipino citizens satisfying certain requirements including age. Application forms are available at the JICC Library in Manila, the Consular Offices of Japan in Cebu City and Davao City, or may be downloaded from the embassy website, www.ph.emb-japan.go.jp, "Culture and Education section," said an online announcement.

he announcement added that free scholarship consultations are also held at the library of the Embassy of Japan every Friday at 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM and 2:00-4:30 PM. Interested individuals are requested to bring a valid ID so they can enter the embassy premises.

Interested applicants may submit filled up applications with complete requirements to Embassy of Japan's JICC along Roxas Boulevard in Pasay City.

JICC will also accept applications through mail post marked on or before February 27, 2009.Further details about the scholarship may be secured at www.ph.emb-japan.go.jp. (PIA) [top]
