March 10 declared special day for women in Mt Province

Bontoc, Mt. Province (21 February) -- In line with the upcoming celebration of the Women's Day on March 10 this year, Governor Maximo B. Dalog issued an Executive Order declaring this day as a special Day for women in Mt. Province.
This annual celebration is mandated by Proclamation 224 declaring March 8 as International Women's Day. However, this year's celebration in the province will be conducted on March 10.
Cognizant of the important role of women in pursuing development goals and objectives, Dalog in his executive order officially excuses all women officials and employees in the province from performing their regular functions to allow them to actively participate in all fitting activities during the provincial celebration of women's day.
With the Theme: "Babae, Yaman Ka ng Bayan," this activity is jointly sponsored by the Provincial Government and the municipal government of Bontoc.
The celebration starts with a mass at 6AM in various churches in Bontoc followed by a program tat 9AM at the provincial plaza. In the afternoon will be fun games dancing/ballroom dancing and pattong to be participated in by women.
There will also be information desk to be put up by line agencies such as PhilHealth, Technical Education and Skills development Authority, the Local Civil Registrar of Bontoc, and the Department of Labor and Employment, to provide the necessary information needed by the women
Other activities to be conducted on March 10 are free ultrasound to pregnant women and free acetic acid wash screening at the Bontoc General Hospital.
For the whole month of March, acetic acid wash screening shall be conducted by Provincial Health Office at the Bontoc General Hospital every Friday afternoon while free blood sugar/count is scheduled every Friday at 8:00-9:00AM at the Bontoc Municipal Health Office. (PIA MP) [top]
