TESDA Ifugao bares course offerings for 2009

Lagawe, Ifugao (21 February) -- The Technical Education Skills Development Authority (TESDA) recently bares its 2009 scholarship programs.
Dubbed as TESDA Ifugao Pangulong Gloria Scholarship Program, there are 13 courses offered to 640 interested participants.
Leonida Bartina of the TESDA said courses offered from January to April this year are Welding SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) where 40 participants are needed; Welding GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding), 20 participants; Carpentry- 40 participants; automotive-20 participants.
From May to December this year, the Provincial Training Center of TESDA will offer Auto Servicing to 80 participants; Welding SMAW to 120 applicants; Masonry, 40; Carpentry, 40; Carpentry,40; Building wiring, 40; Dressmaking, 40; plumbing,40; Construction painting,60; and Driving,60.
Bartina further disclosed that this is a scholarship program of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo which provides transportation and meal allowance of participants. "The applicants are given P60.00 a day to cover their transportation and a meal for lunch," she said.
According to Bartina, the TESDA has been providing similar trainings in the previous years which were able to help solve the unemployment concerns in the province. (PIA-Ifugao) [top]
