Tagalog News: SBMA nananatiling pangunahing investment agency sa bansa

Manila (24 February) -- Inihayag ni Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Administrator Armand Arreza na nananatili pa rin ang SBMA sa status nito bilang nangungunang investment agency sa bansa pagkatapos itong makapag-post ng US$1.1 billion sa mga pamumuhunan at nakapagbukas ng pitumpung-libong (70,000) manggagawa ngayong taon.

Ayon kay Arreza, ang panibagong hamon ngayon sa SBMA ay ang pagkakaroon ng panibagong pamumuhunan sa kalapit bayan ng Subic - ang Zambales at Bataan pati na rin sa lungsod ng Olongapo. Mas magiging madali na umano ito pagkatapos ipalabas ng Pangulong Gloria Macapagal Arroyo ang Executive Order 675.

Sa ilalim ng EO 675, ang mga mamumuhunan na naghahanap ng mas malaking land area ay pinapahintulutang magtayo ng investment sa iba pang lugar na malapit sa Subic Bay Freeport at Clark.

Naghahanda na rin umano ang SBMA ng plano para sa construction ng mga access roads papunta sa iba pang tourist at investment sites sa lalawigan ng Zambales. Maliban dito, may mga bagong power plants pa umano ang nakatakdang itayo sa loob ng Freeport zone na magbibigay ng mas mababang power rates. (Lgtomas/PIA 12) [top]
