Deadline set for nominating outstanding public servants

Iloilo City (25 February) -- The regional office of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) based in this city said the deadline for the nominations for the 2009 Search for Outstanding Public Servants is on March 31, 2009.

The Search for Outstanding Public Servants which is conducted annually by the CSC nationwide through its Honor Awards Program (HAP) aims to recognize and reward individuals and groups of individuals who have rendered outstanding contributions and achievements, and have displayed exemplary conduct and ethical behavior in public service.

"The search is also in line with the department's advocacy of promoting a culture of excellence and of recognizing and rewarding women and men either for outstanding performance, contribution and achievements or for consistent manifestation of exemplary ethical behavior in the public service," disclosed CSCRO 6 Director IV Rodolfo Encajonado in an invitation letter sent to the heads of the different government offices in the region.

The award has three categories that include the Presidential or Lingkod Bayan Award, Outstanding Public Officials and Employees Award or the Dangal ng Bayan, and the CSC Pagasa Award.

The Honor Awards Program is open to all officials and employees in the career and non-career service of the government including appointive barangay officials and employees recognized as government employees pursuant to the conditions set under the existing Civil Service Law and Rules.

Nominations for the Search may be submitted at any CSC Regional Office 6Provincial/Field Offices or to the HAP Secretariat, Public Assistance Liaison Division, CSC Regional Office No. 6 in Mandurriao, Iloilo City.
