P111 million development projects implemented in South Cotabato
Koronadal City (25 February) -- The South Cotabato Provincial Engineers Office has implemented a total of PhP110,745, 686.75 worth of infrastructure projects consisting of roads, bridges, school buildings, drainage and water systems.
Provincial engineer Bernardo S. Dormitorio Jr disclosed that the almost PhP111 million infrastructure projects includes five (5) projects started yet in 2007 and completed only in 2008. another 41 projects were started and completed in 2008; while 24 infra projects started last year were still on-going; as another 15 projects are expected to be completed this 2009.
Dormitoriio also reported that national and foreign funding agencies has poured in last year enormous funding support for development projects in the province. This includes the release of PhP2,903,733.828 from the national coffer and another PhP1,098,403.05 from foreign donors.
He said however, that the bulk of the funds for the province's infrastructure projects came from the 2008 Regular Budget and 2008 Annual Investment Program of the province.
He also disclosed that for 2009, more classrooms, barangay halls, mini-gymnasium, roads and health facilities are up to be implemented by the Provincial Engineers Office of South Cotabato. (ac agad PIA 12) [top]
