DOT-2 wins best decorated booth-domestic pavillion award

Tuguegarao City (26 February) -- The Department of Tourism (DOT) 02 was adjudged as Best Decorated Booth, Domestic Pavilion category in the recently concluded 16th Travel Tour Expo which was held at the SMX Convention Hall of Mall of Asia from February 6-8, 2009.

Bohol Beach Club and Caraga Region took the second and third place respectively.

Under the Best Decorated Booth, International Pavilion category, the winners were India Tourism, first place; Singapore Tourism, second place; and Quarter Airways, third place.

Dubbed "Travel In Style", the three-day event featured 210 of the biggest local and international airlines, cruise operators, health and wellness companies, hotels, resorts, tour operators, travel agencies, and travel shops offering a wide range of packages at highly discounted rates.

DOT Director Blessilda Diwa said the TTE which was organized by the Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAA) together with the DOT is the ultimate shopping destination for the best travel deals in domestic and international travel.

Other contested categories were: Best Marketing Effort and Most Popular Agency both under the Domestic and International Pavilions category.

During the DOT Region 2 program on the second day, February 7, the Cercado sisters from Isabela Province performed for the public. It was followed by autograph signing and selling of their CD at the DOT 02 booth. (PIA Cagayan) [top]
