Santiago City dad pushes anti-drug, anti-crime campaigns
Santiago City, Isabela (26 February) -- Sangguniang Panglungsod member and Chairman on Peace and Order Committee Victorio Miranda, together with the Santiago City Police Office pushed for anti-drug and anti-criminal campaigns in the city.
SP member Miranda said that there is a need to stop drug related activities and prevent criminal activities in the city to encourage foreign and local businessmen to invest in the city as well as to boost the tourism industry.
Miranda said that he is using the slogan "DRUGLESS AND CRIMELESS COMMUNITY –Sugpuin ang Droga" as his relentless battle cry to stop the drug menace in the city.
"In our effort to remind the public on our fight against illegal drugs, we put up big tarpaulin billboards printed therein the slogan "Drugless and Crimeless Community – Sugpuin ang Droga - in the city's strategic places, in the market, in the schools, city hall, gasoline stations and urban barangays," Miranda said.
His committee also initiated a motorcade carrying his anti-drug campaign with the city officials, Sangguniang Panglungsod members, Santiago City's communications group, barangay officials and the business sector.
SP Miranda is optimistic that with the help of Santiago City Police Office headed by S/Supt. Reynaldo Sinaon and the community, his drive to eradicate illegal drug and criminal problems in the city would be fruitful. (PIA Isabela) [top]
