PNP NVizcaya conducts shootfest to raise funds
Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya (26 February) -- The Philippine National Police(PNP) here will be conducting a 2-day shootfest to raise funds for the various peace and order programs and projects in the province.
P/Supt. Pedro Dangilan, provincial director said the shootfest involves the participation of PNP teams from the 15 municipal police stations in the province and gun enthusiasts from Cagayan Valley and neighboring regions.
The shootfest, composed of 5 stages or courses of fire with 114 minimum rounds of ammunition is sanctioned by the Philippine Practical Shooting Association(PPSA).
"We are honored that governor Luisa Cuaresma allowed and permitted us to do this project so that we can have funds for our peace and order projects. We hope that we will have sufficient participants for this," he said.
It is being hosted by the Vizcaya Gun Club(VGC) which will be held on February 28 to March 1, 2009 at the VGC Firing Range in barangay San Antonio North, Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya.
Dangilan said the shootfest is being conducted among PNP men and the civilian community to hone their skills on gun handling and proficiency shooting.
Registration is pegged at P700.00 per participant inclusive of a lunch. The 2-day shootfest is being supported by provincial and municipal officials, business community and other sectors. (PIA NVizcaya) [top]
