Tuguegarao's USLT grabs 100% board passing rate for 1st batch of nursing grads

Tuguegarao City (26 February) -- The University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) has proven its claim as the school of topnotchers as it topped the rank of all nursing school in the country.

Dr. Emmanuel James Pattaguan, Vice President for Administration, said all 82 examinees passed the nursing board exam, putting the university in the limelight as one among the topnotchers in the schools with less than 100 examinees category.

USLT joined St Paul University-Iloilo and Foundation University as rank 1 with 100 passing rate.

Pattaguan said passers were the first batch of nursing graduates of USLT named as "the Cordis Mariae Class 2008".

"This shall be part of the USL history, that our first batch of nursing graduates made it to the top," Pattaguan said.

Dr. Pattaguan also said the entire university is now in high spirits as the news of their topping the board exam was already spread not only in Tuguegarao but in the entire country. But behind the success, he admitted that they are now facing a challenge to maintain and continue the standard they achieved.

"This would be a good promotion for our nursing programs and other courses. Because of this, we are expecting more students to enroll in nursing and other programs next school year," Pattaguan added.

Engr. Rosalinda Valdepenas, University President, also took pride in their two topnotchers, George Vega Jr.-6th placer and Arlette Quinan- 9th placer with 87.20 and 86.60 rating percentage respectively.

Pattaguan revealed that they prepared much for the exam by giving the best review centers for the graduates in exclusive review sessions inside the university.

He further revealed that majority of the passers are now seeking greener pasture abroad to apply their profession. (PIA Cagayan) [top]
