Ifugao PNP celebrates 18th anniversary, bares accomplishments

Lagawe, Ifugao (28 February) -- The Provincial Police Office (PPO) here celebrated recently its 18th anniversary highlighted with the pinning of ranks/insignia to newly promoted personnel.
PSUPT Rufino Pascua Jr., PPO deputy provincial director for operation, said in his welcome message that the occasion reminds the men in uniform the accomplishments that had contributed to the growth and development of the province.
"The PPO would not have been successful in the implementation of the mandate had it not been for the men and women who had gone beyond excellence in performing their duties and responsibilities and who made a difference in the PNP family," Pascua said.
There were 31 newly promoted personnel composed of three Police Commissioned Officers (PCOs) and 28 Police None Commissioned Officers (PNCOs). Also awarded with letter of commendation were 26 personnel, three PCOs and 23 PNCOs. The PPO also handed certificates of recognition to retirees of the Provincial Command.
Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Provincial Director Rosario Domelod, who was the guest of honor, said she was a witness in the transition from the Philippine Constabulary to the Philippine National Police wherein there were a lot of birth pangs, problems and conflicts during the early period. However, this office persevered and was recognized for exemplary performance.
Addressing the newly promoted men in uniform Domelod said that their promotion is a sign of sincerity to their job attributed with their being service oriented men obtaining the support of the community.
Quoting the Irish blessing Domelod said to the participants that may there always work to be done for your hands to do; may your purse always hold a coin or two; May the sun always shine on your window pane; may a rainbow be certain to follow each rain; May the hand of a friend be always near you; and May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you always.
Meanwhile, the PPO bared its accomplishments in the past days making them more visible to the populace.
The PPO initiated the construction of an outpost along the national highway at Sito Ibulao in Barangay Baguinge, Kiangan In coordination with the Local Government Unit of Kiangan, here. "This outpost will serve as fixed visibility post and police assistance center to tourists for the Municipality of Kiangan where the Memorial Shrine of Yamashita is located," said Provincial Director PSSupt. Joseph Adnol.
The PPO also conducted a one day seminar on Purpose Driven Life to 33 policemen. The third to be conducted, the seminar which is in coordination with the religious groups here is intended to enhance the spiritual well being of every PNP especially in their field of work.
PPO personnel also participated in a pre-membership orientation seminar in compliance to a memorandum from higher headquarters. In close coordination with the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), the seminar is a basic requirement in the registration of a cooperative before starting operation. Adnol encourages the members to start the formulation of the constitution and by-laws and facilitate the registration of the cooperative. Adnol pledged the amount of P10,000.00 as seed money.
Moreover, in an effort to remind all security guards on their roles and to be acquainted with police intervention being partners in the enforcement of the law, the PPO initiated a one day seminar for 27 security guards. This is in coordination with the heads of agencies who hired private and or government security guards here.
Meanwhile, the PPO conducted a dental mission, information drive and distribution of relief clothings in the Municipality of Hungduan. PPO records show that there were 78 patients who availed of the dental and medical check up conducted by the Regional Dental Team of the PNP.
