Cebuano News: PGMA nanawagan sa mga Pilipino sa Korea nga mosalmot sa gov't volunteerism drive

Seoul, South Korea (Hunyo 1) -- Si Presidente Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo kagahapon nanawagan sa Filipino community sa South Korea sa pag-apil sa programa sa iyang administrasyon kabahin sa pag-boluntaryo.

Gihimo sa Presidente ang maong panawagan sa iyang pagpamulong sa usa ka panagtagbo uban sa Filipino community didto sa Lotte Hotel gahapon sa buntag.

Nagpadayag sab siyag kompyansa nga ang Pilipinas magapadayon sa iyang pagtubo karong tuiga.

"Now is the time for pooling together and focusing on family and the community. Now is the time to have a new era of volunteerism and community spirit," ang Presidente miingon.

"Because in these trying times, the Filipino spirit and the Filipino's commitment to caring should prompt each one of us to count our blessings and give back to the less fortunate," midugang siya pag-ingon.

Iyang gitumbok nga lakip sa ubang mga butang, ang mga Pilipino angayan nga magpasalamat gumikan sa positibo nga ekonomikanhong pagtubo nga nasinati niini karon bisan pa man sa global crisis.

"That does not mean that we have not been affected. We have been affected but we are holding our own and we remain cautiously optimistic that our resources and plans will allow us to manage our way through this difficult time," pasabot sa Presidente.

Puno pa niya: "It is our revenue collection, job generation, fiscal control and the reforms in the banking sector (that) have been instrumental in keeping the Philippine economy afloat."

Gipahalipayan niya ang mga Pilipino sa South Korea, pinangunahan ni Philippine Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, Louie Cruz, tungod sa "strong spirit of volunteerism among our kababayans today. (PIA-Southern Leyte) [top]
