Napolcom opens PNP entrance and promotional exams
Tuguegarao City (1 June) -- Commissioner Eduardo U. Escueta of the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) has visited the region purposely to announce the opening of new slots entrance examinations for police officers and encourage other policemen to apply and take the exams for promotion.
Escueta said NAPOLCOM has opened the opportunity for additional job to deserving applicants to become members of the PNP family and open doors to some police officers who deserve to be promoted.
He said there are 230 slots given for region 2 for the whole year. There are already less than 100 candidates who are undergoing trainings.
As required in their guidelines that 15% of the total quota would be policewomen, 45 qualified female applicants will fill be hired, Escueta said.
Meanwhile, Police Senior Supt. James Melad said the new police officers to be hired for the year will be deployed to augment the police force of undermanned municipalities and cities.
The 230 additional forces will help so much in the maintenance of peace and other of the society, however, Melad said "still it is not enough to fill up the required ratio of 1 police officer to the number of people he is responsible with."
Melad further stated that there are many deserving police officers to be promoted based on their analysis, however, they have to submit the necessary documents needed and to undergo the necessary processes.
In addition, Comm. Escueta stated that Sr. Supt. Melad is one among the candidates to be promoted to the higher rank. (Ver/PIA-Cagayan) [top]
