Flores de Tagumeņo is Tagum's way of celebrating Santacruzan

Davao City (2 June) -- Upon the impact of technology and modern gadgets nowadays, summer vacation is mostly consumed in front of computers and within the four-corners of airconditioned room. Young people today likely gained experiences and win friends through virtual world on the Internet and on-line games.
Conscious of its big role in promoting cultural heritage and tradition, the City Government of Tagum led by Mayor Uy through the City of Tagum Tourism Council headed by Madam Alma Uy, in partnership with Tagum's Parishes in the Diocese under the watch of Bishop Wilfredo D. Manlapaz, the religious tradition of celebrating Santacruzan has been reconstituted to instill values and religious awareness among Tagumeņos.
In favor of its people's formative development, the unity among the church and state is very evident in the celebration of Flores de Mayo last May 30, 2009. "We are not only concern of our infrastructure development, but also of our people's consciousness that geared towards faith, morality and cultural tradition", said Mayor Uy.
Bishop Manlapaz expressed his joy as he saw the harmony among the faithfuls as Santacruzan enlivens the spirit of Catholicism by giving honor to Mother Mary. "The beginning of my vocation has its roots in Flores de Mayo and Santacruzan", said Bishop Manlapaz during his homily.
The grand Santacruzan in Mindanao gathered the best fashion designers in Davao Region with 22 Sagalas representing the different virtues reflecting the character of Blessed Virgin Mary.
Juliene Ramos as Reina Mora is dressed up by Rolando Pama and Jayrivic Gaje as Reina Fe along with her twin sister Jaymilee Gaje as ReinaAbogada worn the Bamba Limon creation.
A DPWH Tagum field engineer wore the design of Nimfa Diez of Forever Yours as Reina Sentenciada while Evette Delfino interpreted the creation of Eric Cris Sapula of Createur de Mode as Reina Justicia. Raquel's Apparel and Shop showcased his creaion to Sabrina Betsuik as Reina Esperanza, Maria Jan Nicolai Magat as Reina Judith and Jackylyn Garzon as Reina Elena III.
Tres Marias creation was a commitment of Maureen Therese Avisado Siongco of Knot Forever reflecting the personality of Anna Marie Lucaņas as Magdala, Meljhan Angielou Banawa as Mother of Christ and Abigail Balledares as Mother of James.
Chardin's John Bonniedick Adaza and Harold Andy Cabrera offered their masterpieces worn by Jessa Mae Pondoc as Reina Esther, Joana Suzon as Samaritana and Eden de Castro as Veronica. D Joao Tarepe designed Reina Banderada to Windell Mira with Hannah Cadavedo and Maria Trinity Hingpit as Reina de las Virgines.
Ezzeya's designers Don Mascariņas dressed Reina del Cielo and Reina Elena with Stephanie Dacalus dressing Reina Paz with Dr. Gari Sicam for his Reina Sheba's Krystele May Gregorio.
The partnership of Erwin Tan and Edsel Balofiņos of Kasuotan expresses their handwork to Reina de las Estrellas and Reina de las Flores worn by Fchelle Anne Moreņo and Kimberly Gayle Fabular.
Paris winner Garimon Roferos designed the gown of Janice Erika as Reina Caridad while Ronan Opiņa of Beadworks handed his creation to Tanya Jullianne Gonzales as Reina Elena IV.
