Feature: Earn while you study, be a PMA cadet!

Cagayan de Oro City (2 June) -- Earn while still you study and receive a monthly pay of almost P20,000 or pay between that of a Master Sergeant and a 2nd Lieutenant in the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), plus P2,700 in monthly subsistence allowance!
This is the comparative advantage that the Philippine Military Academy is offering to those who are interested to join the cadetship program and compose the members of PMA Class of 2014, Maj. Michelle B. Anayron, Public Affairs Office Chief of the 4th Infantry Division, Philippine Army (PA), said.
Himself a member of the PMA "Tanglaw-Diwa" Class of 1992, Anayron said PMA gives a full college scholarship with pay, a guaranteed job after graduation and a progressive career in the AFP to those who will pass the PMA Entrance Examination (PMAEE) given on Aug. 30, 2009 in 30 testing centers, nationwide.
To qualify, applicants must be a natural-born Filipino citizen, of good moral character, single and have never been married, physically fit and stands at least 5'4" (162.56 cm.), if male and 5"2" (157.48 cm.), if female.
He/she must also be at least a high school graduate with a general average of 85% or higher with no administrative/criminal record and at least 17 years old but not a day older than 22 years on April 1, 2010.
Given every last Sunday of August, the PMAEE covers Algebra, Geometry, English Grammar and Composition, Reading and Comprehension, as well, as Verbal/Numerical Reasoning and Pattern Analysis.
Meanwhile, the PMAEE will be given in the following testing centers of Northern Mindanao: Cagayan de Oro College (COC), Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis University (MU), Ozamiz City and MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology (IIT), Iligan City.
Applicants who pass the written exam will be made to take the medical/physical test and will be ranked according to their standing in the PMAEE and undergo 4 years of education and training at government expense.
Immediately upon graduation, the PMA cadets are directly commissioned as regular officers in the AFP joining any of the three branches of service of their choice: Philippine Navy (PN), Philippine Air Force (PAF) or PA.
Anayron said applications, if mailed, should reach the Office of Cadet Admission, PMA, Fort Del Pilar, Baguio City 2602, not later than two (2) weeks before Aug. 30, 2009, the schedule of the PMAEE.
