Tagalog News: Pagpapalawak ng CARP aaprobahan ng Senado

Manila (2 June) -- Ipinangako ni Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile na aaprubahan ng Senado ng Senate session na magpapalawak sa Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) sa loob ng limang taon.

Dagdag pa ni Enrile na itinuturing umano ng Senado bilang urgent bill ang pagpapalawak ng CARP at inaasahang ma-aaprobahan nito bago magsara ang session ng Kongreso sa June 5.

Ayon kay Minority Leader Aquilino Q. Pimentel ang pagpapalawig at pagpapalawak umano ng CARP ay naglalayong makapagbigay ng P147 billion at makapagpatapos ng reporma sa acquisition at distribution at pagpapatibay ng support services.

Ani Pimentel aaprobahan umano ng Kongreso ang final version ng nasabing batas bago ito mag-adjourn at upang malagdaan ng Pangulong Gloria Macapagal Arroyo bago pa man matapos ang anim na buwan ng CARP sa ilalim ng Joint Resolution 19, na nakatakdang magtapos sa June 30 ngayong taon.
