Davao still free from A/H1N1 flu

Davao City (3 June) -- Davao Region is still free from the dreaded H1N1 flu.
This according to a June 1 update released by the Department of Health Regional office after the two last suspected cases turned negative on PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) for the dreaded H1N1 virus.
The DOH has monitored no new suspected cases since its last update (May 29). So far there were a total of seven cases since May 12, 2009 and all have been confirmed to be negative of the virus.
However the Department is reminding an urging the public especially to those who have traveled to an influenza A H1N1 affected country or have been exposed to a confirmed case of Influenza A H1N1 and having symptoms like fever, cough, sore throat or other flu-like symptoms to consult a health facility immediately.
Despite the absence of confirmed cases and suspected ones, the DOH is maintaining its highest level of vigilance by intensified surveillance and monitoring for early detection and management of influenza-like cases.
