Tacloban City (June 3) -- The 8th Agraryo Trade Fair which is scheduled to open on June 3 and will run until June 7 at the SM Megatrade Hall, will showcase the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of the Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) from all over the country.

Centered on the theme "Enterprising Agrarian Reform Communities: Creating Jobs, Empowering Farmers and Ensuring Food Safety," the trade fair will highlight the most impressive produce and products of the Agrarian Reform beneficiaries.

This includes fresh and processed poultry and meat products, food ingredients and additives, beverages, vegetable products, delicacies, jams, candles, packaging materials, furniture, native handicrafts, novelty items and organic products, among others.

This year, the Department of Agrarian Reform's Bureau of Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Development and the ARB Agribusiness Entrepreneurship Development Program, partners with the Philippine Fruit and Vegetables Industries in order make possible the mounting of the 8th Agraryo Trade Fair.

The organizers are set to also launch the Festival of Communities, a series of competitions that will showcase the benefits of the Agrarian Reform Communities, using the arts as medium.

Among the lined- up activities are video documentary showing and on-the-spot poster making competition.

A host of special events have been scheduled. This include, among others market/ investment matching sessions, cooking demonstrations, photo exhibits of DAR's programs and projects, and seminars on product development and market trends.

A special treat to the exhibitors is the opportunity to network with manufacturers and get the best quality products at whole sale prices. (PIA 8) [top]
