Military doles out school kits to kids

Zamboanga City (3 June) -- The military through the 4th Civil Relations Group, Civil Relations Service, Armed Forces of the Philippines dolled out various school materials to school kids in Sinunuc Elementary School and John Spirig Senior Elementary School as part of its Brigada Eskwela activity for school year 2009-2010.

Major Gamal S Hayudini PAF, Commander of the 4th Civil Relations Group, Civil Relations Service - AFP said that the conduct of such activity is to enlighten the minds of the children that the military is not merely for combat operations but also involved in humanitarian assistance.

"The children are the future leaders of our country, so we must serve as good examples in their eyes so that they will grow up as good citizens," Hayudini said.

Several school items like crayons, umbrellas, t-shirts, caps, assorted reading materials, and bags were dolled out to the students of the mentioned schools.

"The happy faces of the kids as they received the simple stuffs from us made each and every person involved in the activity overwhelmed because in our own little way, we were able to help and brought smiles to our little ones," the official said.

Hayudini also added that through the various efforts of the military in its civil military operations, it has able to establish linkage with the different sectors of the society most especially the civilians as they are now supportive to the government’s thrust in bringing the public closer to the armed forces.

Moreover, other schools will benefit from same activity as Brigada Eskwela Program of the 4CRG continues. (4CRG, CRSAFP/PIA9-BST) [top]
