2,500 Oro folk benefit from People-to-People Program

Cagayan de Oro City (4 June) -- More than 2,500 residents in barangay Cugman availed of the City Government's basic services during the People to People Program (PPP) held on June 3 at the barangay hall.

Mayor Constantino "Tinnex" Jaraula and Vice Mayor Vicente "Dongkoy" Emano led City Hall department heads, chiefs of office and employees in the delivery of basic services to the residents of Cugman.

Medical consultation and distribution of free medicines from the City Health Office served 800 patients, followed by nutritional feeding of the City Social Welfare and Development Office with 500 persons and distribution of 300 packs of rice assistance from the City Mayor's Office.

Some 213 patients also availed of free dental services from the City Hospital, while 163 children availed of free haircut, 40 on birth registration, 34 senior citizens got membership, 27 on free legal assistance from Public Attorney's Office (PAO) and City Legal Office, 35 on real property verification and assessment, 30 on free reading of books, 15 on traffic rules queries, 14 on issuance of cedula, eight on circumcision and five each on electrical permit applications and low-cost housing inquiries.

The Agricultural Productivity Office also distributed 500 packs of vegetable seeds of pechay, okra and sitao, and 350 seedlings of grafted mango, jack fruit, guava and coffee, while the City Veterinary Office served a total of 74 farmers who availed of animal vaccination, deworming and vitamins supplementation.

One of the highlights of the PPP was the mass wedding of 32 couples which was solemnized by Mayor Jaraula and assisted by Vice Mayor Emano. City Councilors Alexander Dacer, Adrian Barba, Emmanuel Abejuela, Caesar Ian Acenas, Ian Mark Nacaya, Aaron Neri, Marycor Calizo, Kreena Vi Poquita, Dante Pajo, Reynaldo Advincula, Simeon Licayan, Alfonso Goking, Ramon Tabor and Cugman barangay chairman Ernesto Jandayan stood as wedding sponsors.

The next stop of the city government's one-stop barangay outreach program will be held at the barangay hall of Lapasan on Friday, June 5. (CIO) [top]
