DepEd 12 pilots Spanish language

Koronadal City (4 June) -- The Department of Education (DepEd) 12 disclosed that it will pilot test Tupi National High School to include in the Curriculum the Spanish Language.
Dr. Allan Farnazo, Assistant Regional Director of DepEd 12 revealed to the Philippine Information Agency 12 said that DepEd Order No. 144 embody the scholarship program for the Spanish teacher.
Farnazo also stressed that the implementation of the said special program aims to educate high school students to learn how to write and speak Spanish language, since some of our dialect and even the English language originated from the Spanish language.
This subject is under the Basic Education Curriculum (BEC) added to edify students from all walks of life, Farnazo said.
He further said that this school year opening of the classes is an assessment for every school nationwide, however in South Cotabato only the Tupi National High School qualifies for experimentation because of the lack Spanish teacher in the province. (PIA 12) [top]
