Tagalog News: Pagsulong ng organic farming sa bansa pinapurihan ng New Zealand

Manila (4 June) -- Pinapurihan ng New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade at ng New Zealand Trade and Enterprise ang inisyatibong ipinatutupad ng pamahalaan upang isulong ang organic farming sa mga magsasaka kapalit ng mga harmful at pollution-causing chemical fertilizers.

Sa April 2009 Quarterly Report sa "Food Miles/Sustainability Market Intelligence" sa Pilipinas, binigyang-diin ng New Zealand Trade & Enterprise na ang bansa ay nakapagbigay ng pondo na nagkakahalaga ng dalawampung milyong piso (P20M) na ginamit sa massive conversion ng agricultural lands sa rice production sa mga organic farm sites sa bansa.

Base sa ulat, ang pamahalaan ay nagbigay ng dalawang milyong pisong pondo para sa conversion ng 400,000 ektaryang rice farms sa organic rice farms na bahagi ng Organic FIELDS Support Programme (OFSP) Phase I.

Ayon sa New Zealand Trade & Enterprise ang pagsulong ng organic farming sa ilalim ng OFSP ay may layuning maibalik ang "ecological balance" ng lupa sa Pilipinas. (Abbenal/PIA 12) [top]
