Dumaguete City (June 5) -- More than 10 overseas employment agencies are expected to participate in the jobs fair to be held at Quezon Park, Dumaguete City on June 12 in commemoration of the 111th anniversary of Philippine Independence Day.
Labor Employment Officer III, Kenrick Villaluz of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said that more than 1,000 overseas employment opportunities will be opened during the jobs fair. Local job vacancies from SPI and Robinsons will also join government agencies in hiring workers through the Comprehensive Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (CLEEP), Villaluz said.
The DOLE expects placement agencies to accept both professionals and skilled workers which are in demand abroad, thus, job seekers in Negros Oriental are encouraged to take the opportunity to avail the job offers directly to the workers.
Among the jobs expected to be offered are electrician, plumbers, domestic helpers, mechanic, welder, engineers, nurses, cook, bakers, among others.
The local DOLE anticipated the countries where the workers to be deployed by placement agencies are in Middle East, Hongkong, Singapore and Europe.
DOLE official reminded the applicants to bring their resume/biodata, credentials, certificate of employment during the jobs fair. It would be better if they have passport and NBI clearance for travel abroad, the official said.
