Partylist reports accomplishments to the people

Tacloban City (June 5) -- The An Waray is scheduled to conduct a dinner-meeting with the various stakeholders on June 5, 2009, at about 6:00 o'clock in the evening at Hotel Alejandro, Tacloban City.

Mr. Philip Jude A. Acidre, Chief Political Affairs Officer and Regional Chairman of An Waray informed that the event is a way of saying Thank you to the various sectors who in one way or another partnered with the partylist in order to extend a collective effort for the development of Eastern Visayas.

Mr. Acide added that the two An Waray Partylist Representatives Hon. Florencio "Bem" G. Noel and Hon. Neil Benedict A. Montejo will be present during the momentous event to report on their past accomplishments.

The occasion will also serve as a forum where friendly discussions and suggestions or inputs are expected to be aired by those invited.

"We intend to receive inputs from you as we plan out the future directions of An Waray," Mr. Acidre said.

An Waray Party List is a democratic multi-sectoral party-list organization that envisions a just, progressive and peaceful Filipino society characterized by its principles, sense of community, peace and progress through the adoption of a community-based and peace oriented development agenda.

The name An Waray was adopted by its founders, Metro Manila-based Filipinos whose ethnic roots are from the Eastern Visayas region. Its membership and representation is national in scope, from as far as Northern Luzon to the islands of Southern Mindanao.

The name An Waray was also used to characterize all poor and marginalized sectors that the group represents. An Waray is the term for those who have nothing or who have less in life. The party seeks to empower sectors at the geographic, economic and political margins of Philippine society by directly representing them in congress through the party-list system. (PIA 8) [top]
