Veering away from the traditional parade of floats, marches, and flag waving, government is zeroing in on addressing a global problem that is currently plaguing thousands of our countrymen - recession - and its attendant repercussions like unemployment, misaligned know how to job descriptions, and livelihood skills.

President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo under the CLEEP program will recognize the Filipino everyman's Kagitingan, Kagalingan, and Kasipagan during the Independence Day activities.

Kagalingan - in a thoroughly competitive world, the Filipino stands out because of his/her creativity, excellence, and resourcefulness. Because of these traits, the Filipino is the preferred employee over and above other nationalities. Still, with the closing of companies the world over, there is a need to job match the unemployed. Training vouchers and livelihood grants shall be distributed to deserving beneficiaries from DepEd and CHED by DSWD, TESDA, NAPC, DOLE, DSWD, DA.

Kasipagan - industriousness, an innate character of the Filipino makes him/her a survivor in any adversity. To further help workers, government will be awarding training/scholarship vouchers during the job and livelihood fairs in June 12 -14 nationwide.

All these traits will come to fore when government acknowledges the determination, excellence, and natural attribute of each and every Filipino everyman.

Without exception, there will be designated areas in all regions, where the underemployed and unemployed can register.

Private companies and LGUs will also be enjoined to set up their respective booths that will help in ensuring jobs for the jobless on June 13 for overseas employment, and on June 14 to be handled by POEA and private sector.
