by Danny Escabarte

Davao City (6 June) -- It was a joyful day for incoming Grade I learners of Felipe Calderon Elementary School in Davao.

City's Bunawan District, when parents, teachers and pupils welcomed them to the school community.

Excitement marked the faces of some 120 Grade I pupils as they were presented and welcomed during a program made particularly for them held last June 2 in their school. The welcoming activity was made more meaningful with each of the kids receiving 5 notebooks, pad paper, plastic envelope, crayons and pencils given by JEWM-Agro Industrial Corporation.

"In behalf of the parents and the school, I express sincere thanks to JEWM for assisting our children in this difficult times," Mr. Joaquin Saldana, president of the parents, teachers and community association (PTCA) said during the program.

Now on its 4th year of assisting needy school children, JEWM-Agro Industrial Corporation, a member company of PBSP, has also provided computer sets and audio-visual equipment to enhance knowledge and skills on information technology among students at Felipe Calderon Elementary School. (PBSP) [top]
