Gov't partners to attend social marketing training on gender

Lagawe, Ifugao (6 June) -- Heads of technical working groups of local government units who are the partners of the GREAT Women Project will be attending training on social marketing campaigns.
"Social marketing is an important tool to ensure that LGUs and their partners work together in creating the local enabling environment for women micro-entrepreneurship," said Florence Manangan. The training is a follow up of the first set of capability development activities conducted in Mindanao, Luzon and Visayas in March-April this year.
Manangan added that this will enable women micro-entrepreneurs to be aware of and utilize gender responsive programs and services in LGUs to better manage and improve their enterprises.
"The participants will prepare a draft of social advocacy campaigns of each LGU partner and increase LGU partners' awareness of the importance of developing well-planned social advocacy campaigns for the creation of gender-responsive enabling environment for women's economic empowerment," she further said.
It is expected that the output of the said training will address the following audiences: for local government officials/Local Chief executives and Sangguniang Bayan members and technical people to create a gender-responsive enabling environment for women micro-entrepreneurs in their localities specifically to formulate and implement policies, programs and services that will allow women micro-entrepreneurs to grow their enterprises.
Moreover, the training will address women micro-entrepreneurs to be aware of and utilize gender responsive programs and services that will assist them in better managing and growing their enterprise.
