Iligan City to host 11th Mindanao PMAP Summit

Iligan City (8 June) -- The People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) - Iligan City Chapter, will be hosting this year's Mindanao PMAP Summit at the Sky Room of Maria Cristina Hotel, this City.
The three-day Summit slated June 18-20, 2009, will be participated by delegates of all PMAP Chapters in Mindanao, with a theme, "Ikarangal and Diwang Pilipino: Malasakit, Bayanihan, Pananagutan" (Honor Filipino Qualities: Engagement, Teamwork and Accountability).
Pantaleon M. Hontiveros, Jr., president of PMAP Iligan, said the Summit's goal is to bring together the people managers in Mindanao who are concerned in the development of time honored Filipino qualities that are vital to the strengthening of the Filipino identity and ideology "Maka Diyos, Makatao, Makabayan."
Also, the Summit hopes to contribute directly to the unified vision of a country driven by people managers who are able to manifest strong qualities that will make us proud of our heritage, the Iligan PMAP president added.
We have invited speakers and resource persons to share insights and provide learning experiences on the theme to promote investing on people for quality service and productivity, said Hontiveros.
During its plenary sessions, the following will be discussed: How to Craft a Sustainable Human Resource Strategy, to be handled by Grace Abella-Zata, PMAP National President 2009; Conducting Administrative Investigation and Dismissal of Employee, by Atty. Manolette Dinsay, University of the Philippines-School of Labor and Industrial Relations; Leadership and Management-Enhancing Productivity, by Dr. Miriam Cue, consultant-Organizational Development and Human Resource; Quality Service-Customer Perceptions vs. Expectations, by Dr. Genaro V. Japos, research director, Liceo de Cagayan University; Values Enhancement for Global Competitiveness, by Mila Louisa Echavaria, PMAP National Board of Director; and lastly, Balanced Score Card: Performance Management System, by Glicerio N. Solivan, training consultant.
Host City Mayor Lawrence Ll. Cruz will tender a welcome dinner during the Fellowship Night on the first day.
Congressman Vicente F. Belmonte, Jr., Representative, 1st District of Iligan City/Lanao del Norte, will deliver his message during the last day of the Summit.
Last year's Mindanao Summit was hosted by the PMAP General Santos City Chapter, a round-robin hosting by five PMAP chapters in Mindanao namely, Davao, Caraga, Cagayan de Oro, SocSarGen (where General Santos belongs) and Iligan City, Hontiveros revealed.
Nationwide, PMAP has registered 19 Chapters from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao regions.
"Let us be part of a nationwide movement in promoting this vision, which will redound to the appreciation and development of our country in general, and Mindanao in particular, expressed Hontiveros.
