One year scholarship awaits winners of RYFP poster making contest

Naval, Biliran (8 June) -- Perhaps this is the usual contest like most artists have already joined and won yet this is different since aside from the usual cash prize and plaque of appreciation, winners will get a one year scholarship.

The poster making contest sponsored by the Responsible Youth and Family Program (RYFP) in Biliran province is anchored on the theme "Responsible Youth and Family" and based on the RYFP's vision and mission.

The contest is open for all in-school and out of school youths in Biliran province, ages 15 to 27 (excluding professionals), free form (any medium can be used), non-digital and with a dimension of material in the maximum of 30x40 inches or cartolina size.

The criteria for judging include content accuracy-30%, visual communication of topic-20%, originality and artistic quality-35% and creativity-15%.

The drop-off stations for the entries will be at the respective Municipal Social Welfare and Development Offices in the eight municipalities in the province and the deadline for the submission of entries will be on July 10, 2009.

The pre-judging of entries for the municipal level will be on July 11, 2009 and the first prize winner at the municipal level will be included as the entry of the municipality for the provincial level whose final judging will be held on July 15, 2009 at the 3rd Floor, Provincial Capitol Building, Calumpang, Naval,Biliran.

The first prize winner in the municipal level and the 3rd, 2nd and first prize winners in the provincial level will receive a one year scholarship courtesy of Governor Rogelio J. Espina.

The 3rd and 2nd prize winners in the municipal level will receive P500.00 and P750.00 respectively while the first prize winner will receive P1,000.00 and a certificate of appreciation.

The 3rd, 2nd and 1st prize winners in the provincial level will reeive P1,000.00, P2,500.00 and P4,000.00 as cash prizes and a plaque of appreciation each respectively.

As of this writing, any qualified and interested Biliranons who wish to join the contest can now submit their entry at the designated drop-off stations. (PIA-Biliran) [top]
