June 12 highlights jobs fair - DOLE 12

Koronadal City (8 June) -- The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 12 disclosed that about 9,000 jobs are expected to be created in region 12 as government line agencies prepare for a Jobs Fair that would highlight the Independence Day celebration this year.
In an interview, DOLE 12 Director Atty. Gloria A. Tango said that on June 12, 2009 in collaboration of the celebration of Independence Day the DOLE 12 has targeted 9,000 jobs to be created in the region.
Likewise, she said the department has allocated P5 million as budget for the livelihood assistance as well as for funding and supervising livelihood projects and enterprise development as a response to the global economic crisis.
"Sa Department of Labor and Employment we have two enrolled program under CLEEP, first is the TUPAD-Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa mga disadvantage workers-under TUPAD we have two components: 1. Emergency Employment 2. Livelihood Assistance. The second program is ISLA, Integrated Services on Livelihood Advancement for fisher folks. We identify the poor fisherfolks for livelihood assistance," Atty. Tango explained during the presscon on Comprehensive Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (CLEEP) held on June 4, 2009 at Villa Princessita, Koronadal City.
The said event was moderated by PIA 12 Regional Director Olivia T. Sudaria with Atty. Ma. Gloria Tango, Regional Director of DOLE 12 together with Lita Enok, Regional Director of the Office of Civil Defense, and Ms. Janile B. Chua, Executive Assistant to SND (Secretary of National Defense) Assistant of the National Focal point for CLEEP in Region 12.
On the other hand, RD Lita Enok of the Office of the Civil Defense congratulated the region for the full implementation of CLEEP under the supervision of CLEEP 12 steward Gilbert Teodoro, Secretary of National defense and through the help of various agencies in an effort to help people specially the disadvantage sector of the society.
