Panabo City commemorates National Flag Day

Davao City (9 June) -- Panabo City commemorated National Flag Day Celebration last May 25, 2009 at around 7:30 am in front of their New city hall.

celebration is a kick off activity for the National Flag Day on May 28 and the 111th Independence Day celebration on June 12, 2009, with the theme: Kagitingan, Kagalingan, Kasipagan tungo sa Tunay na Kalayaan."

The celebration is simple yet well organized. Ms Levy Dangcalos sang the doxology and the national anthem. It is followed by the entrance of the colours, panunumpa sa watawat ng Pilipinas and the presentation of the evolution of the Philippine Flag.

The program's highlighted by the giving of the awards and recognitions to the members of Fire Department and Mr. Emmanuel Curay Plasabas who won the three bronze medals in swimming of Arajuga Games at Darwin Australia in 200m, 100m and 50m water Breast stroke.

Mr. Emmanue C. Plasabas is 17 years old. He is scholar at UP Los Baños, Laguna taking up Business Management. He has been consistent awardees for the Outstanding Panaboans in 2008 and 2009 for garnering 3 silver medals in Oct 2006 BIMP - EAGA friendship games last Oct.2006 and another 3 silver and 1 gold medals last Dec 2008 BIMP-EAGA friendship games at Darusalam, Brunei. Mr. Manuel A. Plasabas and Mrs. Elizabeth C. Plasabas are his lucky parents.

On the other side, 111th Independence Day Celebration on June 12, 2009, 7 o'clock in the morning at the old City Hall ground.

Elected and appointed city officials, heads of the national line agencies, department heads, heads of NGO's and civic organizations, free and accepted masons in the Philippines, students, veterans, senior citizen, men and women in uniform are expected to grace the event.

Special invited guests to grace the momentous event are Cong. Antonio F. Lagdameo, Jr. Gov. Rodolfo Del Rosario, Vice-gov. Victorio Suaybaguio and the Sanguniang Panlalawigan Members.

The National Flag Day and the coming Independence Day celebration are spearheaded by the City Tourism Office under the City Administrator's office, headed by OIC City Administrator Nemesio L. Rasgo, Jr. (NarzJad-City Info LGU Panabo City) [top]
