Joint efforts of gov't forces vs kidnapping lauded

Isabela City, Basilan (9 June) -- The recent release of the kidnap victim in Tipo-Tipo, Basilan Province is a solid proof that the military and police forces are working intensely to solve the crisis.

In a press release, Major Gamal S Hayudini PAF, Group Commander of the 4th Civil Relations Group, Civil Relations Service, Armed Forces of the Philippines, said that the continuous success on the safe release of the remaining kidnap victims by the kidnap for ransom groups is due to the persistent efforts exerted by the AFP through Task Force Trillium under the headship of Rear Admiral Alexander P Pama AFP, who is at the same time Commander of Naval Forces Western Mindanao.

The CRG Chief also pointed out that the creation of the joint Crisis Management Committee (CMC) of Zamboanga and Basilan are vital since they played important roles as mediators for the safe release of the captives.

The unification of the armed forces and the civilians in the fight against kidnapping and other lawlessness was among the key elements that resulted to the successful operations conducted by the troops to free the remaining victims, Hayudini said.

"The AFP and the PNP will never fail to perform their mandated tasks as it has been always our commitment to serve and protect the Filipino people at all times," Hayudini added. (4CRG, CRSAFP/PIA9-BST) [top]
