Oro veterinary office collects P181-T in meat fees
Cagayan de Oro City (9 June) -- The Meat Inspection Operation and Public Health Services Division of the City Veterinary Office (CVO) collected a total of P181,462.75 in fees from ante and post mortem services in May 2009.
Dr. Perla T. Asis, City Veterinarian, disclosed in her monthly report to City Mayor Constantino G. Jaraula that out of the total fees collected, P23,716.50 were came from ante-mortem fee while P157,746.25 were generated from post-mortem fee.
During the period, Dr. Asis added that a total of 7,341 animals were slaughtered which include 6,041 hogs, 880 cattle, 259 goats, 71 horses; 65 ostriches and 25 carabaos.
The CVO also confiscated some 2,269.29 kilograms of condemned organs and carcasses of five heads of hogs due to dead on arrival as part of their meat safety consumption measure. (CIO) [top]
