Bulacan braces for 3-day job and livelihood fair for June 12 affair

Malolos City (9 June) -- A three-day job and livelihood fair will highlight the June 12 celebration of the 111th Philippine Independence Day.
This is in consonance with the theme of this year's celebration which is "Kagitingan, Kagalingan at Kasipagan: Tungo sa Tunay na Kalayaan."
The first day, June 12, is slated for employment in government agencies. This is reserved for jobseekers with civil service eligibilities, for the Armed Forces of the Philippines personnel positions and short-term emergency employment.
On this day, 5,705 workers will be hired under the CLEEP (Comprehensive Livelihood Emergency Employment Program) of the DA, DENR, DepEd, DOLE, DOST, Tourism, DPWH, DSWD, DTI and TESDA. These jobs were created from the 208 projects initiated by these agencies.
To be awarded on this day also are 2,847 scholarships for deserving beneficiaries.
The next day, June 13, jobs in call centers, construction, food and beverages, travel and tourism, manufacturing, wholesale and retail, and agriculture, will be offered by companies from the private sector.
June 14 will see land and sea-based jobs for overseas workers to be given by local recruitment agencies.
The triple-one anniversary activities will be held at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in Malolos City and the Event Center of the SM City in Baliuag.
These services shall start with the simultaneous flag raising and wreath-laying at the historic Barasoain Church in Malolos by Dep Ed Secretary Jesli Lapus on June 12.
The job generation fairs will be complemented by the services from government agencies such as medical missions, diskwento caravans, free haircuts and massages, skills and livelihood demonstrations and OTOP (One Town, One Product) exhibits.
Culminating activity will be the evening concert and cultural presentation to be conducted by the Sining Bulacan on June 14 at the SM City Event Center. (PIA 3) [top]
