An Waray party list sponsors sports for 40 something

Catbalogan City (10 June) -- An Waray party list is currently sponsoring a basketball tournament in the capital city of Samar.

Players include adults who are over forty.

In the basketball court near the Samar Capitol Park, spectators are treated to the rigorous sporting activity that the 40 or more adults grapple with.

PIA learned that City Councilor Art Gabon is co-sponsoring the sporting event.

The inter-Barangay Games started on May 30 and will finalize on June 14 as the date for championship game.

Newly appointed nominee, Neil Montejo will join Representative Florencio 'Bembem' Noel in gracing the awarding of the best 40-something basketball team.

Prizes range from P15,000 for the champion, then P10,000 down to P6,000 and P 3,000.

Spectators predict any team from those battling for the quarter finals namely players from Barangays Guinsurungan, Maulong, Payao and Bunuanan.

An Waray Party list is a democratic multi-sectoral party-list organization that envisions a just, progressive and peaceful Filipino society characterized by its principles'katilingban' [sense of community], 'kahimyang' [peace] and kauswagan [progress] through the adoption of a community-based and peace oriented development agenda.

.An Waray partylist advocates community based and peace-oriented development in our rural communities claiming sports as part of their socio-civic activity.

Meanwhile, earlier, basketball fanatics were also treated to a basketball tournament sponsored by the young Representative of Samar's Second District, Sharee Ann Tan.
