Bicol all set for June 12 mega job and livelihood fair

Legazpi City (10 June) -- A total of 28 local employers and 17 overseas employers will participate during the June 12th Mega job and Livelihood Fair to held at the Albay Astrodom in this City on Friday.

Ernesto Bihis, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) regional director, said that thousands of overseas and local jobs openings are ups for grabs for qualified applicants during the 111th Independence Day Mega Job and Livlihood fair.

He said that more than 3,000 persons have already pre-registered for the Independence day mega job fair and they expect more to come on Friday.

Behis said that 13 exhibitors will participate in the livelihood component of the June 12th activities. 10 of the exhibitors are DOLE and DTI assisted project while two are DSWD assisted and One exhibitor is DENR assisted project.

DBM secretary Rolando G. Andaya will be the guest of honor during the day long activities which will also include awarding of employment contracts to qualified job applicants, Livelihood assistance, Grants and scholarship vouchers.

An On-the-Spot painting contest for elementary and high school students will also be part of the activities for the day.

The DOLE regional director advised applicants to being along their detailed resume, certificate of employment, if any, transcript of records, passport (for overseas emoployment) and other credentials. (PIA) [top]
