Caraga preparations for 111th Independence Day nearly complete, says DOLE

Butuan City (10 June) -- "Preparations for the 111th Independence Day of Caraga is now 95 percent complete." Director Chona Mantilla of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Caraga says during the press conference today (June 10) at the DOLE-Caraga conference room.
The celebration will have three major activities. First will be the opening program and flag-raising to be led by the Butuan City government, DepEd and DOLE. Second will be the awarding ceremony to be led by the Department of Tourism (DOT). Third will be the job/trade/livelihood fair, one stop processing services, promo diskwento, basic health and wellness services, employment counseling services and advisory services to be led by DOLE and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
The opening program will start 8:00 am on June 12 at the Rizal Park. Prior to the opening program will be a motorcade from the Butuan City Sports Complex to Rizal Park. After the flag raising ceremony is the wreath laying ceremony by Sec. Joseph Ace Durano of DOT.
After the opening program at the Rizal Park is the awarding ceremony at Almont Inland Resort. The ceremony will include awarding of 9,039 employment contracts, 71 livelihood checks and 900 training vouchers.
Simultaneous with the awarding ceremony is the job/trade and livelihood fair, also at Almont Inland Resort. 248 government vacancies, 742 local vacancies and 4,100 overseas vacancies are expected to be filled up during the job fair.
There will also be a one-stop processing services. The National Statistics Office (NSO), Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), PAGIBIG, Social Security System (SSS), PhilHealth, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and NERBAC.
There will also be basic health and wellness services. Products from organizations and goods offered by suppliers will also be sold at a discounted price during that time. (PIA-Caraga) [top]
