Military slams soldier for robbery
Camp Panacan, Davao City (11 June) -- The 10th Infantry Division (10ID) vehemently condemned the alleged robbery committed by a soldier noontime yesterday.
Report from Talomo Police station revealed that the respondent was positively identified by the victim as Private First Class Gary Silverio. The latter was arrested in a hospital in Toril around 4:00pm of the same day.
Based on the record of 10ID, Silverio is assigned with the 25th Infantry Battalion.
Major General Reynaldo Mapagu, Commander of 10ID said, "I am saddened of such act committed by our soldier. We do not condone such crime. He will be responsible for what he did."
"We allow the police to do their job on this. I have directed our Division Provost Marshall to closely coordinate with them for a separate investigation as to the administrative liability of Pfc Silverio. Once he is proven guilty, he will be meted with the maximum penalty of separation or discharge from the service," Mapagu added. (10th ID) [top]
