Capiz NFA welcomes new manager

by Edna Artates

Roxas City (11 June) -- The staff of the National Food Authority (NFA) here recently welcomed their new Provincial Manager Procopio B. Trabajo II.

Trabajo swapped posts with former Capiz NFA Provincial Manager Gil Ibarra, who has taken the place of Trabajo in Antique.

NFA Capiz Public Information Officer Edna Artates said Trabajo accepted the symbolic key from Ibarra during a turnover ceremony held at their provincial office in Barangay Bolo of this city to signal the start of his new assignment here. The turnover was witnessed by the agency's stakeholders and conduits.

The new provincial official assured NFA employees here that he will continue the good works started by PM Ibarra, at the same time encouraging them to work with industry, smartly, within bounds, and as a team.

Artates said that for his part, Ibarra thanked agency employees and stakeholders here for their support and cooperation. He urged them to maintain their morale and vigor as vanguards of the grains industry and to stand as an example of good public service.

He also enjoined them to give their support to the new provincial manager.

Like most executives, Trabajo rose from the ranks after joining the NFA on July 18, 1977. He is a graduate of AB Political Science and Master in Rural Development. He is an active member of the Rotary Club and International Fraternity of Free and Accepted Masons.

Born a leader and achiever, he was elected President of the NFA Managers' League in 2002 until January 2008. Trabajo is married to the former Leolah Villabert who is presently the Regional Accountant of NFA Region VI and with whom he is blessed with four children. (PIA/NFA PIO) [top]
