NCDC to award Negros Oriental to host 2nd Philippine Cooperative Teamshop

Dumaguete City (June 11) -- The Provincial Cooperative Development Council (PCDC) here has set to launch and sign a Memorandum of Agreement to host the 2nd Philippine Cooperative Teamshop on June 18, 2009 at 10:00 o'clock in the morning at the Negros Oriental Convention Center, capitol area, this city.

The National Cooperative Development Council (NCDC) Chairperson Arthur Aller will present the Notice of Award to the PCDC Chair Dr. Profetiza Lim during the launching.

Lim said the hosting of the cooperative teamshop expects to gather not less than 4,000 cooperative leaders nationwide in October, next year.

She said the teamshop is an opportunity to establish linkages between and among cooperatives for mutually enriching entrepreneurial initiatives.

Cooperative and Development Authority (CDA) Provincial Coop Development Specialitst Nora Patron also said the convention of coops is an avenue to convene cooperative leaders, practitioners and advocates all over the country to exchange best practices in managing business enterprises.

To officially confirm the hosting of the coop teamshop, Provincial Governor Emilio Macias II together with the chair of CDA, Lecira Juarez, NCDC and PCDC officials will unveil and sign the MOA during the launching on Thursday, June 18.
